A painting of a seated female nude on a sage green pouf with a background of a lighter shade of sage. With her back to the viewer, the woman is leaning on her left arm with her right knee raised high and her right foot planted on the stool. Her right hand holds her head while her right elbow rests on her right knee. She has flowing dark hair, and there is a small earring in her left ear. On her back she wears several tattoos of vines with green and red colored leaves. The leaves of the tattoos are delineated with a thin black line. Part of her silhouette is also delineated with a black line. The omnipresence of tattoos inspired me to make this painting: for me, as a painter, it is quite fascinating that people offer their skin as a permanent canvas to an artist. And I have also been playing around with the concept. So in this picture I have used a black line to delineate the skin part of the model's body as a reference to classical tattoos.
