A painting showing a seated female nude wedged in between two golden blocks. The figure and the blocks are painted against an even black background. The dark-haired woman is sitting cross legged and is trying to avoid being crushed by the golden block weighing on her shoulders. The theme of this painting is the desire to be free and the inspiration for this picture came from architecture more specific the use of caryatids, human figures that serve as an architectural support like a column or a pillar. In contrast to their usually very static poses, I choose to paint one very life-like while she is trying to break free of the crushing golden constraints that try to keep her in an uncomfortable position.
